How to become an accountant without a university degree

A degree certificate

In recent news articles we have demonstrated the success of people who become Professional Accountants following the Association of Accounting Technician’s Qualification Route.  We thought it would be a great opportunity to create a visual to illustrate how this can be achieved and what opportunities are presented to you en-route.

Vocational means `work-related`.  The aim of vocational qualifications is to help you learn a skill, so you can start working and earning sooner, whilst gaining valuable work experience to enable you to do the job confidently and competently and excel in your career more rapidly.

In less than a year you could:

  • Be earning whilst you are learning, and potentially more than those without qualifications
  • Obtain professional recognition and status (use AATQB after your name)
  • Work as an AAT Licensed Bookkeeper

In the development of their qualifications, AAT consult with employers to ensure their qualifications are structured to teach the skills needed to do the key accounting processes required in the workplace. AAT strive to ensure the standard that people are required to achieve is high, to protect their reputation and to continue to give employers and clients confidence.
