You’ll be happy to hear that there are no entry requirements – you can start at any level. ACCA Foundations begins at GCSE level and goes up to the equivalent of the first year of a bachelor’s degree.

You’ll also need to complete a professionalism and ethics module called Foundations in Professionalism before you can be awarded any of the Foundation-level qualifications.
*Accountant in Business (FAB) is changing its name to Business and Technology (FBT) from September 2020. The change better reflects the existing exam syllabus and the increasing role technology has in the accounting profession.
These exams are all 2-hour Computer Based Exams (CBEs) and you will need 50% or more to pass.
Upon completion of the exam, your provisional result is displayed on the screen. Your result will be transferred to your myACCA records within 72 hours.
To pass your exams you will need to achieve 50% or more.
If you are unlucky in your first attempt, the ACCA has specific resources aimed at directing students on where to focus their studies to get back on track in the study resources section, and you can book your exam with MyACCA as soon as you are ready to give it another go.

After completing this level, you could go onto job roles such as a Junior accounts or cost clerk, or a junior bookkeeper in a small or medium-sized business. Or go into a range of junior or cost accounting administration roles in an accounting department of a larger organisation. If you want to continue studying, you can move onto ACCA Applied Knowledge.
