|AAT Level 2 Courses||Provide an entry level qualification for those who are new to finance, as well as an enjoyable challenge for those with bookkeeping or accounting work experience. AAT Level 2 courses teach the double-entry bookkeeping principles which computerised processes and accounting systems are built on, as well as essential skills to help you succeed in any entry level job.|
|AAT Level 3 Courses||Are suitable for those who have a thorough understanding of the double-entry bookkeeping system obtained from either work experience or any level 2 manual bookkeeping qualification. They introduce advanced bookkeeping skills, accounts preparation and management accounting techniques.|
|AAT Level 4 Courses||Are suitable for those who have level 3 accounting qualifications which cover financial and management accounting. Level 4 further develops advanced financial and management accounting skills and introduces specialised topics such as taxation and auditing.|

What does AAT stand for and what are its membership opportunities?
The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is a professional accounting body which offers professional status and recognition. You can apply to:
- Use the letters AATQB after your name (AAT Level 3 qualified)
- Use the letters MAAT after your name (AAT Level 4 qualified)
- Register as an AAT Licenced Bookkeeper (self-employed bookkeeper)
- Register as a Licensed Accountant (self-employed Accounting Technician)
A level 3 qualification earns UCAS points which can contribute towards degree applications and level 4 provides AAT exemptions from the early stages of many Chartered Accounting qualifications.
